In 2012, Guillermina Borgognone (1990) and Germán Rodríguez Labarre (1988) founded Estudio QO, a space dedicated to research and production in architecture, art, and design.
Since its inception, the studio has developed a practice that moves between theoretical inquiry and project materialization, exploring disciplinary boundaries and the relationships between diagram and matter. Desde sus inicios, el estudio desarrolla una práctica que se mueve entre la indagación teórica y la materialización de proyectos, explorando los límites disciplinares y las relaciones entre diagrama y materia.
Throughout its trajectory, the studio has carried out works, projects, and installations of various scales and natures, conceiving each as an opportunity to test ideas and explore hypotheses about the ways in which we construct and experience contemporary space.
In parallel, the studio combines its own production with extensive international experience in the development and coordination of large-scale projects related to architecture, art, and cultural production.
This dual practice—between projectual autonomy and interdisciplinary collaboration—has consolidated a working approach that integrates critical thinking, technical precision, and a profound material sensitivity.
Their work is characterized by a critical and experimental attitude that seeks to construct meaning through constant questioning, a sensitive understanding of context, and collective exchange as the driving force of projectual thinking.
Rather than defining a style, QO proposes a practice that is renewed in each case, seeking an identity that emerges from the particular conditions of every project. In this way of working, reflection and action continuously reinforce one another.
The studio’s work has been published and awarded both nationally and internationally, and it has over ten years of experience in university teaching, reinforcing its commitment to research, knowledge exchange, and the shared evolution of the discipline.
Since 2012, Germán Rodríguez Labarre has developed his teaching role across various academic courses. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Rosario (UNR) and the Catholic University of Santa Fe (UCSF), Rosario campus.
