QUIRO

Obra construida, 2025 / Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina

The project, designed for a medical care center specialized in chiropractic treatment, is located on the ground floor of a residential building facing the public street. The containing space, rectangular in layout and with limited height, covers an approximate area of 40 m² and has a single source of natural light and ventilation oriented toward the front. This initial condition became the guiding principle of the proposal, presenting the challenge of organizing a reception area and two consulting rooms within a compact setting while ensuring environmental comfort, spatial continuity, and luminous quality.

From this premise arises the incorporation of an experimental construction system developed by the studio, composed of translucent recycled polycarbonate blocks derived from post-industrial waste. This material resource allows for the diffusion of natural light and the creation of a homogeneous atmosphere, while simultaneously addressing criteria of sustainability and technical efficiency. The project synthesizes previous explorations concerning modularity and the constructive unit as a generative element. Through a single constructive component, walls, lintels, benches, and support surfaces are resolved, forming an interconnected framework that provides rigidity and structural stability without relying on independent supports.

The intervened space, characterized by an irregular ceiling section and floor level variations, required the system to avoid direct contact with the existing boundaries, thus consolidating its formal and material autonomy. The device enables different degrees of privacy through variations in module density, avoiding the use of conventional opaque materials and preserving luminous continuity. Built in only three days by the members of the studio, the ensemble reaffirms its versatility, rapid assembly, and low environmental impact, proposing a reflection on permanence, temporality, and architecture as a conscious and experimental practice.
